What is a custom orthotic?

A custom orthotic is a device worn inside your shoe that helps align and support your foot and ankle, to provide improved mobility, stability and foot positioning. This can help reduce stresses and strains on your feet, ankles, knees, hips and lower back, reducing pain and improving performance.

They’re suitable for everyone from professional athletes to those who work on their feet all day to just about anyone who enjoys walking or wants to walk with less pain!

How does the assessment work?

Your first assessment takes around 30 minutes and involves you standing and walking over our footplate system. This gives the system the information that it needs to identify what your feet are actually doing and what could be done to help them function better. Phits Orthotics are unique as they are designed especially for you, based on dynamic data. This means that they don’t just look at your feet as you are stood still, they actually design themselves based on how your feet move as you walk.

We’ll show you images and videos of how your feet are moving so you can see exactly what’s happening. You may be surprised by what your feet actually do when you walk and how different they can be from each other.

The orthotics themselves are 3D-printed so you’ll get EXACTLY what your feet need based on the data that the system records plus you can order additional pairs, which will all be exactly the same. You can even have them personalised with your name on the insoles themselves!

There is no obligation to buy any orthotics but if you do decide to purchase a pair, you can expect your custom, 3D-printed orthotics in around 2-3 weeks. We’ll take delivery at the clinic and then give you a call to come to collect them.

How much does it cost?

Your analysis and assessment is £45 and you are under no obligation to purchase any sets of custom printed orthotics afterwards. If you do purchase a set, the cost of the assessment is taken off the final price.

If you would like to purchase a set of custom-printed orthotics, the prices are:

  • first set of standard orthotics, including assessment = £275
  • additional sets = £225 each

If you’d like to book in for an assessment, email us at orthotics@mooreosteopathy.co.uk and we’ll get you booked in.
